Ipolani Duvauchelle

Ipolani Duvauchelle is the recipient of The California Foundation’s President’s Award, the Foundation’s highest honor. Ipolani graduated from San Francisco Christian School with a 3.9 cumulative grade point average and ended her final semester with a 4.2 term grade point average. While in school, Ipolani’s father became very ill with a rare disease and his doctor’s had given him only months to live. But Ipolani, her father, and her family fought for his life and now the disease is in remission. She tells us that her parents’ faith and strength kept her going and this experience shaped her into the strong and independent woman she is today. Seeing her father and mother struggle and hurt from her dad’s illness, Ipolani strives to use her life experiences and challenges to help others who are also hurting. Ipolani is currently a student at San Francisco State University and plans to study Counseling or Psychology. Ipolani vows to continue doing her best and strive for the highest degree possible in her field of study, and to make life better for not only herself but for those around her.
