Dear Friends,
We have marked another successful year in the history of The California Foundation. This year proved to be one of our largest support and greatest giving, attesting that our future can only be brighter than our past.
We are excited and acknowledge that we are many steps closer to reaching our goals; because of our supporters. Thus, we remain driven by the same passion that we started with, of building a more humane and just world, one student and one organization at a time.
As we near a new fiscal year, we know the State of California will face more problems and drastic changes within the Department of Education. The State of California has already proposed $4.8 billion in cuts from education, which will hurt most schools and all children in California. Nevertheless, while this might be discouraging news, we are still committed to fortifying and bettering education for everyone in California.
We hope that you find this Annual Report for 2008 inspiring and insightful. It is our goal for you to gain firsthand knowledge of how we strive to succeed in meeting our goals and fulfilling our mission. We implore you to consider or continue to partner with us as we facilitate the translation of education “into benefit for everyone and greater strength for our nation.???
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
